Oswego Summerfame Theatre Program- Residential

Description:
Oswego’s Summerfame experience is a special residential, intensive experience for students entering grades 9 -12 to train in several performance disciplines: acting, vocal music, dance, musical theatre and technical theatre.
Musical Theatre
Performance students may elect to focus on acting or musical theatre at Summerfame. Classes in musical theatre concentrate on selections from the musical theatre repertoire. Acting and movement classes and seminars (in areas such as improv, neutral mask, auditioning techniques and college/career options) will add to your knowledge base and skill level. All performance students will work with a choreographer to complete the musical theatre experience. At the end of the program, open classes will allow students to exhibit material and performances for friends and families.
Design and Technical Theatre
Will you have a school musical next fall or spring? How will you light and stage it? What about sound? We provide you with professional knowledge, insights, tricks and practices in technical theatre design and stage management! Students interested in stage management and theatrical design receive instruction in all areas of technical theatre – set design, lighting, sound and special effects. You assist in managing the stages and acts at Oswego Harborfest, one of the largest musical festivals in the Northeast! Mixing real work experiences at Harborfest and high-level classes, Summerfame provides you with an opportunity to highlight your work and creativity.
