SuperCamp: Learning & Life Skills Summer Programs
Raising Grades, Confidence & Motivation for Students Entering Grades 6-12

Description:
SuperCamp offers strategies for achieving success that last a lifetime for all types of students. A learning and life skills summer camp, SuperCamp provides opportunities for personal growth, self-discovery, friendship and fun. It’s a summer camp where students improve grades, motivation and confidence, gain powerful academic skills and develop high self-esteem in an environment that fosters learning and success. Students acquire reading comprehension, writing, note taking, study, test taking, and time management skills, while developing communication, leadership, creative thinking, goal setting and problem solving abilities.

Program Information:
SuperCamp is a coed, residential program.
Junior Forum is for boys and girls entering grades 6-8 in the fall. One session available: July 22-31, 2009

Description:
Our Baseball camps will feature instruction from the Cornell University Baseball Staff and is held on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York. Instructional focus will be skill development with drills to improve each player's performance. Game settings will also be used for instruction. A strong emphasis will be placed on positional skills (defense), hitting, baserunning, and pitching. Each camper will receive instruction based on his skill level.

Cornell University Boys Basketball Day Camp

Description:
These basketball camps will focus on fundamentals and specific skills. Basic skills and techniques will be covered thoroughly. Campers will learn and practice post moves, rebounding, shooting, passing, and footwork among other things. 'Position' specific skills will also be addressed. For example the guards will focus on ball handling, passing, shooting, decision making, moves with the ball, etc. Campers can sharpen the skills they learn throughout the week through organized drills and scrimmages. Games will be played in the afternoons. All campers receive a FREE camp t-shirt and basketball.

Cornell University Boys Ice Hockey Camps

Description:
Camps will run over five days, with two on ice sessions per day. Our camps will cover all aspects of the game including tactical sessions for offense and defensive strategies, game and position strategies, plus individual stick work and skating skills. Some sessions will consist of team vs. team games. Individuals will be placed on a team if a team from their own school is not fully represented. In addition to ice-time, morning and afternoon off-ice sessions will include dry land training, video analysis and recreational games. We offer recreation in the evenings which includes swimming, bowling, movies, go-carting and recreational sports such as baseball and basketball. Limit 100 campers/week

Cornell University Boys Soccer Prospect Camps- Day and Residential

Description:
Boys Soccer Prospect Camp
June 28-30, 2009 / July 1-3, 2009 • Ages 16-18
The Cornell University Soccer Prospect Camps are intensive, three-day competition-based camps. Sixty players will be divided into four teams. Each day teams will have training sessions with our Division 1 staff before concluding with 60-minute full-sided matches. All sessions will take place at Cornell’s lush McGovern Field training complex.
This camp is designed to closely replicate the training environment and competition that the advanced player can expect to find at the collegiate level. The full-sided matches are also an outstanding opportunity for players to showcase their abilities within the team framework.
Coed Soccer Day Camp

The Cornell Soccer Day camp provides and opportunity for young players (ages 7-13) to learn soccer skills in an instructional environment that is challenging and fun. Young players with some playing experience will sharpen their techniques and improve their understanding of the tactical aspects of the game. Beginning players can develop new skills and learn how to use them in the game. The morning session will focus on enhancing technical skills, and the afternoon session will be devoted to game related ideas and actual soccer games.
Skills and concepts taught will include passing, receiving, shooting, heading, defending, attacking, and goalkeeping. All campers receive a FREE camp T-shirt and soccer ball.

Cornell University Coed Fencing Camp

Description:
The fencing camps feature 13 instructional and sparring sessions over the five days of camp. All sessions are held in the Andrew P. Stifel Fencing Salle in Bartels Hall on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York. Campers are coached by Cornell's head fencing coach Iryna Dolgikh and assistant coach Olena Gutor. Cornell varsity fencers will serve as camp counselors and assist during sessions.

Cornell University Competitive Rowing Camp

Description:
The Big Red Rowing Camp is directed by Olympians and Cornell coaches Hilary Gehman, Matthew Smith and Chris Kerber, along with 3-time national champion and EARC Coach of the Year Todd Kennett. The camp is designed for boys and girls ages 15-18. Each athlete will be challenged to improve his/her technique and fitness while enjoying a fun camp experience. Coxswains receive direct feedback and instruction. Campers row twice each day out of Cornell’s two historic boathouses on beautiful Cayuga Lake. Campers take part in erg training, receive weight training education and video feedback. Campers receive a FREE Cornell camp T-shirt.

Cornell University Cross-Country/Distance Camp

Description:
The Cornell University distance runners camp aims to give runners of all ability levels (ages 13 and up) an opportunity to explore different kinds of safe and effective training techniques and philosophies. We emphasize the importance of keeping running and competition fun.
The camp and its counselors emphasize an individualized approach to training programs and will instill in campers the importance of proper preparation (drills, stretching and weight training) in preparing for the cross country season.
Sessions devoted to hill running, intervals, anaerobic threshold runs, speed play, long runs and the importance of recovery days are all part of the camp’s week-long curriculum.

Presentations are given by the Cornell Head Coaches and guest coaches from other Universities on training and motivation, in addition to demonstrations by other members of the Cornell coaching and training staff.

Finally, all campers who desire, will end the week with a two mile cross country race in the Cornell Plantations.

Cornell University Football Camp

Description:
At the football camps Coach Knowles will be joined by one of the best coaching staffs assembled in college football. The familiarity of the coaches with one another and their enthusiasm for the sport will bring a special energy to the camp experience. Each day the coaches will focus on individualized work that will help every player develop better skills and improve his understanding of the game of football. Players will have the opportunity to work on both offensive and defensive skills, if desired.
Two sessions on Sunday and Wednesday, Three sessions Monday and Tuesday. Evening skilled position games and competitions. Individuals will be placed on a team if a team from their own school is not fully represented. The camp is held on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York. This is not a 'FULL' contact camp. This camp does feature some contact however, and campers must bring pads and helmet. All campers receive a FREE camp t-shirt.

Description:
Cornell University Girls Field Advanced Hockey
Directed by Cornell's head coach and staffed Cornell coaches, visiting coaches and current Cornell field hockey players. The advanced camp is designed for serious athletes who desire a highly competitive and intense training experience. All sessions will be held exclusively on Astro-turf and will include tactical sessions for offensive and defensive team work. In order to provide more individual instruction the camp enrollment is limited to 70 campers

Team / Open Field Hockey
Cornell's Team/Open Field Hockey Camp is an official USA Field Hockey partner camp that is directed by Cornell head coach Donna Hornibrook and staffed by Cornell coaches, visiting coaches and current Cornell field hockey players. Sessions will be held on the Marsha Dodson Field and will cover all aspects of the game, including tactical sessions for offensive and defensive strategies, game and positional strategies and individual skill work. The camp is held at the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York. Cornell players will coach and supervise campers. Games will be played during evening sessions. The Cornell Girls Soccer Prospect Camp

is designed for the serious player who has an interest in playing soccer at the next level. This camp is provides players with the type of coaching and experience they can expect to find at the collegiate level.
Precise technique will be emphasized in terms of fine tuning basic skills to apply to a tactical minded game under increased speed of play. Small group and team tactical ideas will be taught with a mind towards constructive and deliberate play. Goalkeeping specialists will be on hand to rigorously coach interested individuals, both technically and tactically.

Cornell University Girls Volleyball

Description:
The Cornell Hi-Potential Volleyball Camp- Grades 9-12. Recommended for varsity athletes and/or players with advanced club experience. This camp features morning, afternoon and evening sessions all run at a fast pace. The High Potential Camp is geared towards the serious player who has an interest in playing volleyball at the highest level. Precise technique will be emphasized in terms of fine-tuning basic skills as well as developing a player's tactical-minded game. Positional work will also focus on specific skills and situations..

All Volleyball Camp features morning, afternoon and evening sessions. It is geared toward the less experienced player who wants to improve skills and learn new concepts in preparation for varsity level play. Precise technique will be taught and applied to developing and improving basic skills. These skills will be put into play during daily games. Cornell University Golf Camps

Description:
Each day at the Cornell Golf Camps features a three hour instructional session and a round of golf on Cornell's beautiful Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. Instruction consists of the five different components of golf: putting, chipping, pitching, full swing with irons and full swing with woods. Campers are placed in small groups with a specialized instructor and rotate throughout the morning to several of the five stations. Afternoon rounds of golf allow campers to practice their new skills and their course management.
Resident campers stay in one of Cornell University's residence halls and dine in one of Cornell's 'award winning' dining halls. Lunches will be provided at the Moakley House on the golf course. Commuter campers receive the same instruction as residents as well as a delicious hot lunch. Resident campers will participate in evening recreation each day. Activities include recreational sports, swimming, miniature golf, bowling, movies, nature walks and go-carting.

Cornell University Intensive Wrestling Camps,
Wrestling Technique Camp and Team Camp

Description:
Designed for the serious wrestler who desires a highly competitive and intense training experience. All aspects of the sport will be covered, with special attention paid to the psychological and physical development of each wrestler. Campers will be exposed to the training techniques of some of the world’s most accomplished wrestlers. During the June 28 and July 12 weeks of camp, intensive campers will have the opportunity to test their newly acquired skills by competing against teams from the team concept camp. This camp represents an excellent opportunity to really learn how to train like, and become a champion. Train like the best, with the best!
For 2009, many of the Intensive camp sessions will be held in the new Friedman Wrestling Center. This facility features three huge mats, air-conditioning, a weight training facility, training room and video review room.

Cornell University Rock Climbing Camp

Description:
Rock Climbing camps are offered by Cornell's outstanding Outdoor Education program (COE). All camps feature two session climbing sessions per day, conducted at Cornell's Kay Bouldering Wall and Lindseth Climbing Wall in Ithaca, New York, the largest real rock indoor climbing wall in North America. Each session features 2 hours of climbing instruction by COE's experienced instructors. Campers learn the skills, techniques and strategies needed to become accomplished climbers. Campers will also travel to the Hoffman Challenge Course for adventure and instruction on the high ropes course. They may also learn to set up a Tyrolean Traverse and cross Beebe Gorge high above Fall Creek in Cornell's Plantations..

Resident camp includes lodging in a university residence hall and meals in one of our award winning dining halls. Resident campers will participate in evening recreation each day. Activities include recreational sports, swimming, miniature golf, bowling, movies, nature walks and go-carting.
Commuter campers receive all of the same climbing instruction and daily recreation as residents and a delicious hot lunch but do not participate in evening recreation. All campers receive a FREE camp t-shirt.

Cornell University Sailing Camp

Description:
Our sailing camps features two three hour sessions each day (Sundays have one four hour session). Each session begins at Cornell's marina on Cayuga Lake in Ithaca, NY. Campers learn the skills and techniques needed to become a knowledgeable sailor through expert demonstration and hands on sailing. They will execute new sailing skills each day when they man Cornell's modern sailboat fleet. The fleet includes eight Vanguard Racing 14' Intercollegiate 420's, a J24', a Pierson 26' sailboat and two 26ft Rangers.

Resident camp includes lodging and meals in one of our award-winning dining halls. Resident campers also have fun while participating in evening recreation Sunday-Wednesday evenings. Recreational activities include recreational sports, swimming, miniature golf, batting cages, bowling, movies, nature walks and go-carting. Commuter campers receive all of the same sailing instruction as residents.

Cornell University Softball Camp

Description:
Our softball camps features two sessions each day, plus optional evening sessions for advanced players. Each session features two full hours of softball and is conducted at Cornell's Niemand-Robison Field on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York. Campers learn the skills, techniques and strategies needed to become a successful softball player. Daily instruction focuses on the development of important skills including batting, fielding and base running.

Campers receive individual instruction and play team games daily. Resident camp includes lodging and meals in one of our award-winning dining halls. Resident campers participate in evening recreation each day. Activities include recreational sports, swimming, miniature golf, bowling, movies, nature walks and go-carting. Commuter campers receive all of the same softball instruction as residents and a delicious hot lunch. All campers receive a FREE camp T-shirt.

Cornell University Swimming Camps
Skill Development Swim Camps & Swimming Intensive

Description:
Skills Development Camps are best suited for swimmers who have at least one year of competitive experience at the USS, YMCA or interscholastic level. It is designed to enhance skill technique of all four competitive strokes, starts and turns. Campers must be comfortable being in the pool for an hour at a time. Resident campers ages 10-12 must attend camp with a friend(s) as roommates.
Camps include swimming workouts, dryland training in power yoga, and instruction in the use of weight training equipment. In addition, underwater video stroke analysis, technique drills and “chalk-talks” on nutrition, dryland training and sports psychology will be offered. Each camper will receive a written evaluation and view tapes of their strokes at the end of each session. Upon the request of the camper a written evaluation will be generated for the swimmer’s personal coach. Campers will participate in our evening recreation program (see important information). The camp is held at the Cornell University main campus in Ithaca, New York.

Intensive Swim Camps are geared toward highly competitive swimmers. It features three sessions/day and offers more instruction related to strength, conditioning and nutrition out of the pool. Dinners are provided for commuter campers.

Cornell University Team Concept Wrestling Camp

Description:
Big Red Wrestling Camps: 2009 TEAM CONCEPT CAMPS:
Created for teams and individuals who desire summer-time dual meet competition. We will develop a program to fit your team’s needs. The competition schedule is flexible allowing your team to wrestle as many matches as you and your team desire. Clinicians will oversee and critique individual matches, after each dual meet. Clinicians will direct and evaluate individual dual meet performances. Last year, teams from NY, NJ, PA, MD, VT, FL, LA, NC, CT and MO squared off in some exciting dual meet action. A great way to develop team unity and to gain invaluable mat experience. Coaches are encouraged to attend but it is not a prerequisite. Running along with the high school team camp will be our junior high school and younger Team Concept Camp. Contact the coaching staff for recommended ages.
The team wrestling camp features an hour of instruction followed by a dual meet during each of the morning, afternoon and evening sessions. The evening session will include review and work on weaknesses with an assigned coach as well as a combination of the following: goal setting, mental preparation, nutrition, individual video critique, wrestling games. $10/camper discount for teams of 10 or more!

Cornell University Tennis Camp: Advanced, Skills, and Day Camp

Description:
Tennis High Potential Camp: July 5-9 and July 12-16, 2009
The advanced tennis camps are for boys and girls ages 12-18 and feature two sessions each day. These camps are under the direction of Women’s Head Coach Rob Weiss. Coach Weiss provides each player with an individual evaluation of their strokes to correct and improve their techniques. He will help each player better understand the proper way to set up a point and learn when to hit certain shots. He and his coaching staff will teach campers when to play offense, defense and when to neutralize a shot to stay in the point.

Cornell University Track and Field Camp

Description:
Track camps are beneficial for all athletes from beginning to elite. This camp teaches both the fundamentals of the sport as well as the most advanced techniques and strategies in all the events:

Mid-distance High jump Javelin
Distance Pole Vault Hammer

Top collegiate coaches from around the country along with national caliber athletes direct each session. All campers improve their skills with two activity sessions a day and instructional sessions on general training theory, weight training, plyometrics, and fitness circuits.
Presentations are given by the Cornell head coaches and guest coaches from other Universities on training and motivation, in addition to demonstrations by other members of the Cornell coaching and training staff. The camp is held at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Cornell University Youth Sports Day Camp

Description:
Cornell University will once again sponsor a summer Youth Sports Camp for children between the ages of 7 and 11. Children will be grouped by age. Camps will be held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Campers will receive individual and group instruction in a variety of sports. Supervised team competitions will also be held, again with teams separated by age groups. Every camper receives a free t-shirt.

Children will learn and play several different sports each week (football has been removed from the curriculum). Campers particpate in bowling and a week ending skit. A daily swimming session is included in the camp curriculum.

ur main goal is to foster learning in a fun, sports-oriented atmosphere where children receive positive feedback for their accomplishments and recognition for their participation. Participation in sports can greatly enhance both the physical and mental development of young children. Children between the ages of 7 and 11 are active, exuberant, and possess a growing sense of independence. By experiencing a wide variety of sports, these children can gain self-confidence and self-esteem in a climate of teamwork and fair play.
