Summer College for High School Students:
One-Week Session Open to all High School Students

Description:
In Ithaca's residential pre-college summer program, high school students experience college life and college-level courses while living in a safe environment.
The program is open to all high school students. Students who successfully complete their workshop will receive a certificate of completion.
Areas of study include American Sign Language, American Gangster, Digital Music Production, Digital Photography, Hollywood: From the Golden Age to the Global Age, New Product Development, Screenwriting, Sports Media and Marketing, and Writing College Applications,

Program Information:
Coed. Residential. June 25 – June 30, 2017 .
Open to all high school students.
The summer 2017 fee to attend a one-week course is $1,680. This fee covers room, board, tuition and activities.
Commuter rates are available upon request.

Summer College for High School Students:
Three-Week Session Open to all High School Students

Description:
Summer College is a three-week academic program for talented students who have completed their sophomore or junior year in high school. Students live together in a residence hall and choose one of ten courses. Students earn two to four college credits. Ithaca College faculty teaches all courses. The program includes co-curricular seminars and recreational activities.
Areas of study include Acting I; Capital Market Investing; Communication, Culture and Rhetoric; General Psychology; Health Sciences: Foundations & Careers; Introduction to Musical Theater Performance; Introduction to Field Production; Introduction to Philosophy; Introduction to Sport Management; The Politics of (the musical!) Hamilton.

Program Information:
Coed. Residential. July 2-21, 2017
Students who have completed their sophomore or junior year in high school
Students who demonstrate an above-average academic profile, leadership skills, or special talents will be given preference.
The application process includes a request for a brief essay explaining your interest in the program and a request for your high school transcript.
2017 cost: $5,080
Cost includes room, board, tuition and activities.
A limited number of partial tuition scholarships are available to those in special need who complete a financial aid application, available on the program website.

Summer Piano Institute at Ithaca College
Ten-Day Session Open to all High School Students

Description:
The Ithaca College School of Music invites talented young pianists, aged 12 through 18, for 10 days of intensive piano study in the heart of the Finger Lakes. The Summer Piano Institute at Ithaca College is a comprehensive program of varied musical experiences held on the beautiful IC campus. Participants use the superb facilities of the James J. Whalen Center for Music, where a nationally and internationally known piano faculty provides a lively array of daily lessons, workshops, classes, and supervised practice. Recreational and social activities, such as field trips and picnics, are offered too. The institute is residential, but commuters are also welcome.

Program Information:
June 29-July 8, 2017. Coed. Residential program with a commuter option
Enrollment is limited and competitive: must demonstrate musical proficiency and personal maturity; must be at least 12 years old by June 23, 2017 (upper age limit is 18)
Application complete an application; obtain a letter of recommendation from their private teacher for new (non-returning) applicants; include a YouTube link of an audio recording with two pieces of contrasting character and style; make a list of the repertoire you have studied during the past two years and indicate which pieces you have memorized or performed in recital. 
Application fee- $25. Application deadline- April 1, 2017. 
Notification of acceptance- May 1, 2017.
Fees Residential - $1,980 (includes instruction, recitals, activities, supervised housing, all meals from dinner June 29th through lunch on July 8th, plus two tickets for family members to the closing luncheon).
Fees: Commuter - $1,640 (includes same as for residential participants with the exception of housing. All meals included.)

Ithaca Writers Institute at Ithaca College
Two-week residential program open to all High School Students

Description:
Begin your writing odyssey in Ithaca. The Ithaca Writers Institute, a noncredit summer program for high school students, offers two weeks of intensive creative and professional writing workshops on the campus of Ithaca College in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Taught by the distinguished faculty of the College’s Department of Writing. Students spend mornings in two-hour workshops, focusing on the genre of their choice (Fiction, Personal Essay, Poetry, Science Fiction and Fantasy.) Students spend afternoons in lectures and craft classes that allow them to experiment across the genres: Digital Storytelling; Magazine Editing and Publishing; Submission, Rejection, and Publication; Writing as a Critic; Writing Dialogue. In the evenings, they participate in a student reading series and interact directly with visiting writers and publishing professionals who have expert insight into the craft and business of writing.

Program Information:
July 2-14, 2017. Coed. Residential program with a commuter option. Enrollment is competitive. Must demonstrate writing proficiency in chosen genre.
APPLICATION: Complete the online application and submit writing samples. No application fee. Deadline is May 1, 2017.
Poetry, 3–5 poems (no more than 10 pages). Prose (Fiction, Personal Essay, Science Fiction / Fantasy), 5–10 pages, double-spaced.
FEES: Residential: $2,330. Commuter: $2,050
