Girls Soccer Academy- Day & Residential

Description:
The curriculum is designed for girls age 13 and up and will focus primarily on preparing players to compete at the collegiate level. The camp combines individual skills with team tactics to enhance the development of each player. Campers will be exposed to challenging training sessions to improve decision-making and speed of play. Competitive evening matches will also enhance development and provide players the opportunity to showcase their ability to some of the best Division I, II, III, NAIA and JC collegiate coaches in the region.
In the tactical sessions we will cover the following: combination play, positional play, principles of offense, principles of defense, and formations.
In the technical sessions we will cover the following: passing/receiving, dribbling, moves, defending, offense, heading, and finishing.
In the evening seminars we will be covering topics such as nutrition, recruiting, financial aid/scholarship, psychology, coaches and players Q & A panel.

Cost: $435.00 for residential players and $335.00 for commuters. This includes experienced college coaching, room/board, and T-shirts.

Saints Cross-Country/Track & Field Camps

Description:
The St. Lawrence Track and Field Camp and High Performance Distance and Cross Country Camps are open to all boys and girls (ages 12-18) with an interest in track and field and/or High Performance cross country/distance running.

Track and Field Camp Features:
• Instruction in all track and field events during week 1
a high performance/distance running concentration during week 2
• Distance runner (cross country and track) component included

Saints Lacrosse Camp

Description:
Camp Director, Mike Mahoney: In his 12th year as the head coach of the men's lacrosse program at St. Lawrence University, Mike Mahoney has coached teams to post-season appearances in each of his last five years, including the NCAA Tournament in 2006 and 2007. A native of the North Country, Mahoney was an All-American player at St. Lawrence Central High School and a two-sport captain at St. Lawrence University.
Coach Kelly Kunz has been the on-field director for the girls program since the camp's inception in 2000. She brings a wealth of experience having coached at the college, high school and youth levels. She is a true 'teacher of the game.'

Program Information:
boys and girls, beginner to advanced, ages 7-18
commuter or residential • Sunday, June 27 through Thursday July 1, 2010
Cost: A non-refundable desposit of $100 must accompany your registration form. If payment is received by April 15, the cost of the camp is $200 for commuters and $375 for overnight campers.
Campers should bring : lacrosse stick, helmet, gloves, mouthguard, shoulder pads, arm pads, swimsuit and towel. Overnight campers should also bring bedding, alarm clock, towel and personal items

The Staff includes director and Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Mike Mahoney, who has guided his team to two-straight NCAA tournament bids. Also on staff are Dave Bradman, Ryan Glennon and Kelly Kunz

Saints Swimming Camp

Description:
At Swimming Camp, you will be shown stroke drills, see the strokes on film as demonstrated by USA National Champions. You will hear lectures on stroke mechanics, conditioning principles, nutrition, motivation, race strategies and much more. Campers will take home a written stroke analysis and a stroke videotape.

All Swimmers will be involved in daily practice sessions using the latest training methods which include: swimming, race strategy, dry land exercises, drills for all four strokes, anaerobic/sprint training, aerobic/endurance training, flexibility exercise and interval training.

Weeks 1 and 2: All Swimmers will be involved in daily practice sessions using the latest training methods which include swimming; race strategy; dry land exercises; drills for all four strokes; anaerobic/sprint training; aerobic/endurance training; flexibility exercises; interval training. There will also have presentations in weight training, proper nutrition, mental training and the physiology of swimming.
Week 2: Specifically designed for the modified, JV or high school swimmer who wants to get an early start on conditioning and stroke mechanics. It will be exciting, challenging advanced methods of training that will be the perfect preparation for the start of the school swim season. This is exclusively a commuter camp. No residency offered.

*Enrollment will be limited. Reserve your space early to insure participation. Residential fee includes four nights lodging in a University dormitory and meals. Commuter fee includes all instruction and lunch. Commuters are welcome to return after dinner to participate in any recreational activities. A 9:30 p.m. pick up is mandatory.

St. Lawrence Basketball Camp & Basketball Team Camp

Description:
The St. Lawrence University co-ed basketball camp is designed to provide younger basketball athletes with an opportunity to learn, share and prepare for their upcoming season

The co-ed basketball camp features:
• Individual Improvement - Serious players will be able to receive one-on-one instruction from camp staff. Individual programs can be developed to allow the elite player to improve their game.
• Shooting with ‘The Gun’ - This is a practice machine which fires up to 30 passes per minute, moving to ten spots around the perimeter. The netting forces the development of an increased shooting arc.
• Supervised scrimmage-Campers can apply skills they learn in one-on one, two-on-two, three-on-three or five-on five full court play.
• Individual videotape shooting analysis- Each camper will have his or her jump shot videotaped, critiqued and corrected.
• Recreation- Campers will have access to the swimming pool and games room.
