NYIT Extended Education Pre-College Summer Exploration Program Manhattan Campus: Exploring Architecture in Manhattan
Description: Are you a high school junior or senior? A professional considering a career change? Would you like to earn three college credits while learning about architecture and design? Our four-week summer program takes place in studios overlooking Central Park and Columbus Circle, in the heart of one of the world’s most famous urban environments. This challenging program includes design projects, focused workshops, reading seminars, invited guest lectures, walking tours, office visits, and exhibitions, all emphasizing experimentation and exploration through practice, theory, and history. No prerequisites are necessary for this hands-on experience in architecture and design.
NYIT’s School of Architecture and Design offers accredited professional degrees in architecture and interior design. Credits earned in the Exploring Architecture Program may be applied toward an NYIT degree. NYIT’s Manhattan campus is easy to get to from New York City’s Penn Station and Grand Central Station. Nearby discount parking is also available. The Manhattan campus offers the cultural enrichment and excitement of the world’s greatest metropolis - an international center for all design professions.
