Description:
Students will spend this week exploring the physical characteristics of planets and moons that comprise our solar system. They will investigate the exciting discoveries of NASA missions such as Cassini-Huygens at Saturn, Messenger at Mercury, and New Horizons on its way to Pluto. Students will explore the engineering challenges of sending robotic missions to the planets and will have the opportunity to photograph the moon and planets. They also will safely observe and photograph the sun using KOSC telescopes equipped with filters and projection methods. For returning students, this institute will reinforce and go beyond what was presented last summer!
