Youth Programs at Brooklyn College - Summer 2010 CUB-Children’s University at Brooklyn College: Entering Grades 1-6

Description: This exciting six-week program will provide your children with intellectual stimulation and creative inspiration. All classes are held on our beautiful campus, Monday-Thursday. Limited Enrollment.

Program Information: 2010 Program Information
Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m
July 6 through August 12, 2010
Total cost of program for 2010- $1395.00 (includes all books and material fees)
Additional classes will be offered from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at an additional cost.
Early morning drop-off (8-10 am) and late day pickup (3-5 pm) available at additional costs.

Courses for 2010
YS100 Young Scholars On Campus Grades 1-2
Children entering first and second grade in September 2010 will explore learning through our hands-on classes. Academic modules will include instruction in mathematics, reading and science. Additional modules will include: Elementary Performing Arts, Media for Kids, Fitness for Kids & Arts ,Crafts and So Much More!l
YS200 Young Scholars On Campus Grades 3-4
Expand the learning capacity of your third or fourth grader with our new and exciting youth program. Academic modules will include instruction in mathematics and language arts. Emphasis will be placed on developing strong analytical skills necessary for success on all standardized exams. Additional modules will include Radical Reactions (a hands -on science class presented by Mad Science of Brooklyn,) Smart Start for Biz Beginners (a class in finance and money management for kids,) Fitness for Kids, & Computer Creations.
YS300 Young Scholars On Campus Grades 5-6
Children entering grades five or six in September 2010 will love this stimulating summer program. Academic modules will include instruction in mathematics and language arts with a focus on test-taking strategies and problem solving skills. Additional modules will include: Science in Action, Artful Objects (a multi-cultural art class in which students decorate everyday items with ornamental patterns,) Mysteries of Magic, Journey Through Time (an exciting exploration of social studies), (Grade 5) and Jump Start to Business (a business course featuring games, hands-on activities and contests, (Grade 6.)
